For 12 years, the RVA French Food Festival has operated with one goal: raise awareness and funds for the Little Sisters of the Poor in Richmond and their elderly residents. As you may have heard, the Little Sisters of the Poor announced  on October 30th their intent to withdraw from St. Joseph’s Home in Richmond due to a decrease in the number of Sisters. St. Joseph’s Home and its Residents will remain in place under new ownership after a buyer is identified.

As the Sisters prepare for this transition, the festival committee had a lot of decisions to make about the future of the event. We are so excited to announce that we are partnering with the good folks over at Commonwealth Catholic Charities (CCC) to continue the RVA French Food Festival tradition in 2020. The proceeds of this year’s event will be split evenly, with half going toward the care of the Residents at St. Joseph’s Home and half going toward the Senior Care Programs provided by Commonwealth Catholic Charities.

With this new partnership, and in this transition year, there will be some changes to the festival. The festival will now be held down the road at Commonwealth Catholic Charities (1601 Rolling Hills Drive Richmond, VA 23229). We’re working harder than ever to present you with the best of French food and culture in Richmond, and have some exciting new additions for our 12th annual event. Stay tuned for updates!
